Rosai Dorfman disease
Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy
This disease stands out in the pantheon of weirdness: monocytes and macrophages attacking one's own lymph nodes, but not quite able to finish the job. The node remains in a stalemate.
Lymphocytes engulfed by macrophages ... |

a phenomenon called 'emperipolesis' |
Lymph node mostly replaced by pink macrophages |
with reisdual blue lymphoid follicles |
